The sky looks the same from this place.
The land is somehow familiar.
I do not feel so far away
But I am.
I am separated by miles and mountains
From those I love
And I stare at the hourglass
Impatiently watching for the last grain of sand to fall
And signal my return to a place I call home.
But I look at the stars
And see they haven’t changed.
That even from this side of the world
They are still perfect.
Man is so insignificant
That the heavens will not move for him.
I wonder if distance is a mindset
And proximity a state of being;
That perhaps love is closer than we think.
